Mohenjo-Daro Ancient City

Mohenjo-Daro was a city of the Indus Valley Civilization, one of the earliest civilizations in the world. It is believed to have been built around 2600 BCE, and at its peak, it was one of the largest cities of the ancient world. The city was located in what is now Pakistan, near the Indus River.

The Indus Valley Civilization was a highly advanced society, with well-planned cities, advanced engineering, and a complex social structure. Mohenjo-Daro was a prime example of this, with its sophisticated drainage and sewage systems, as well as evidence of large public buildings and houses.

The people of the Indus Valley Civilization left no written records, so much about their culture and society remains a mystery. However, the artifacts and ruins discovered at Mohenjo-Daro and other Indus Valley sites have provided valuable insights into the everyday life of the people who lived there.

In the 1920s, the city was rediscovered by archaeologists, who began excavations to uncover the secrets of the ancient city. The excavations have revealed a wealth of information about the Indus Valley Civilization, but much remains to be discovered.

Despite being one of the most ancient and important city of Indus Valley Civilization, Mohenjo-Daro was abandoned and forgotten for thousands of years, and today it is an UNESCO World Heritage site, attracting thousands of visitors each year.
